From Recovery to Formulation
In 2006, I was in a severe accident that changed everything.
I broke my right ankle and arm. My left arm was nearly severed. I suffered a traumatic brain injury and was in a coma. When I woke up, I learned I had a brachial plexus nerve root avulsion that left my right arm permanently paralyzed.
Recovery wasn’t just physical. It became a long-term battle with pain.
For years, I was prescribed some of the strongest pain medications available. They helped me function, but they also came with their own cost. Over time, I wanted to reduce my reliance on them, but it wasn’t easy. The pain from a herniated disc made that nearly impossible.
Then around 2016, the hemp industry started gaining traction.
By mid-2017, I began working with CBD isolate. I approached it the same way I approach everything: analytically. I wanted to understand what it could actually do, not what people were claiming.
I started making my own formulations.
At first, I focused on edibles. One day, I made a batch of very strong, 0% THC CBD edibles. When I tried them, I noticed something different. My discomfort dropped to a level where I didn’t feel the need to take pain medication in the morning.
That was new.
Then it carried into the afternoon.
That was when I knew something real was happening.
The turning point came by accident.
While making a batch, I spilled some CBD mixed with MCT oil. Without thinking much about it, I wiped some onto my neck and shoulder. What I noticed next caught my attention immediately. I was able to move with more ease. Less resistance. Less stiffness.
It wasn’t theoretical anymore. It was direct, physical feedback.
That moment shifted everything.
From there, I started focusing not just on ingestion, but on topical delivery. I began refining formulations, adjusting ratios, and testing everything on myself under real conditions.
Every limitation I was dealing with became part of the testing process.
Everything Better was built out of that experience. Not from trends, not from marketing, but from years of trial, adjustment, and real-world use.
Before anything gets released, it goes through that same process.
Because if it doesn’t work for me, it doesn’t make it out.
